Q: I had a great evening tonight: A bunch of us went out after work and shot some pool, had a few drinks, went
bowling, and topped off the evening with a much needed diner run. During the eve, I thought of a TV Trivia
question that fit this adventure perfectly. Tonight's question, however, is completely unrelated:
In the original Incredible Hulk comic, the main character's name was Bruce Banner. The name was changed, however, for the TV series. What was his name in the show? Bonus point if you know why it was changed. Be sure to stay tuned tomorrow... the answer is quite interesting.
A: Network executives somehow concluded that the name "Bruce" would make the character sound gay, (they must have a list that I'm not aware of) so they changed his name to David. Hulk creator Stan Lee wanted some continuity with the original comic book, so at his insistence, the opening credits show the main character looking at his own tombstone, which reads, "David Bruce Banner".
